According to the Bosham bloke posting on the Nomad forum they got a letter from the Sussex FA, which said:
The main reason for the relegation is due to the size of the home dressing room (formerly the away room) which was swapped last year to 'dodge' a bullet. The only way around it would have been to rebuild the whole clubhouse. This has been coming and maybe a blessing in disguise in my opinion for the longevity of the club which may well be suited to the WSFL - however its a shame for a number of people who put in a lot of effort behind the scenes, as at any club.
At step 7 does it really matter what size the dressing rooms are? If they've been used without problems up to now the only reason for all the fuss are these silly ground grading rules.
But this surely can't be an FA directive re ground gradings at step 7 or half the clubs in step 7 leagues around the country would be getting demoted! This has to be the Sussex FA doing this?
Whoever is to blame really needs to get a grip on reality.
I attended a match at Bosham FC just last month and the facilities were superior in every way to those of almost any step7 club I can think of in either the Oxfordshire Senior League or North Berks League (bar AFC Wallingford, who obviously have their roots much higher up the pyramid).
Bosham's ground has a proper self-contained feel, is gated, has plenty of parking, a bar, hot food and refreshments, standing cover, is railled along one side, and they even publish a decent programme. And above all else, those representing the club were welcoming and friendly (and in lousy weather of heavy rain they were all working hard to make sure the match actually went ahead). Bosham FC are a credit to their league. It'd be a happy day if the lacklustre OSL could get their step7 clubs to tick just a couple of those boxes
