Women at cash point machines. First they check the balance on the card, then they eject it. Then they search their bag for another card, insert it, and check the balance. Then they take out cash but of course they've asked for a receipt as well so there's more delay waiting for that.

Try it for yourselves. Go to withdraw cash at a supermarket where there's three ATM's in a row. Count the ratio of men to women in each and see which is the slowest. On average the queue with the greatest ratio of men will be faster.

Or when there is a receptacle to put the unwanted slips in, a smoker comes along and thinks it's one of those on the wall ashtrays and the whole thing goes up in smoke.

Politically correct offensive drivel annoys me intensely.

Went back to work today. In the "News" update email there was a description of a woman in her 30s who had won a battle with cancer.

All very impressive. But not the description of her, which said she was a "full time mother". I assume this actually means she hasn't a job outside the home and is used instead of the un PC "housewife".

Now, I have no grouse with a mother with young children who decides its more important to stay home than go out to work, but those mothers who do get paid employment are just as much "full-time mothers" as those who stay at home. Describing those who stay home as "full time mothers" implies that those who get paid work to help pay for mortgage etc are somehow "part time mothers".

I think there's a vast number of mothers who'd love to be able to stay home but work themselves into the ground to do what they think will be best for their family.

People who complain about speed cameras and speeding fines. Especially people who claim it's a "stealth tax". The answer to their problem is really quite simple...

(and yes, some speed limits are annoyingly slow (there are several stupid ones near my Dad's in rural Suffolk), but it's still the law. People can lobby their councillors if they don't like it).

Or more likely they have to go to work because her and her husband's wage packets combined just about feed the family and pay the bills.

Many are on the A34 around the Milton Interchange at the moment. It goes from 50 to 40 to 30 for a reason. Though a lorry ignored them yesterday and crashed off the road and managed to block the north bound carriageway.

The Highways Agency are too blame for a lot of that, how many times do you see warnings on the gantry of an accident ahead and a 50/40 and in some cases even 30mph speed limit, everything slows to a crawl only to find that there is no accident or if there was it was cleared long ago but nobody thought to turn off the warning signsCrazy! Hardly any wonder that such signs are routinely ignored.

This has to be the funniest thing I've ever read on this forum! Absolutely brilliant.

It reminds me of a newspaper story I cam across some 10-15 years ago, about some Glasgow brothel owner or pimp who was convicted of beating up girls who worked for him and was subsequently jailed. According to the report, he was a Rangers fan and spent the money taken from the women on building up an extensive collection of old Rangers programmes.

I sent the newspaper cutting to 'Programme Monthly' magazine, but they declined to publish it. I don't know if this pimp was a PM subscriber or reader.

The signs on the M3 after Christmas. Roadworks suspended until 4th January. 50 mph limit still applies. So nice of them to tell us whilst we were still crawling for 16 miles why we couldn't see anybody at work.

My post arriving at 4pm on a Wednesday along with numerous flyers for cheap pizza.

That 50mph speed limit on the M3 three has been there for ages now maybe even years.

See there is going to be 6 months of repairs on the M6 at Brum, think it's on the bit they repaired about a year ago.

The road works suspended until the 4th January suggests there is still work pending which suggests that the road surface may not be suitable for speeds over 50mph.

I suggest motorists would be better off respecting the speed restrictions, other road users and the expertise of the Highways Agency and save their arrogance and ignorance for Social Media where no lives are at risk.

The funny thing is the secret to observing speed limits is simply about your mind set. Once you accept that excessive speeding is dangerous, arrogant and often futile as well as extremely stressful it isn't hard to become a far more intelligent and considerate driver.

Even the police generally acknowledge that the 70mph limit on a motorway is ridiculous.

Depending on weather conditions and traffic volume.

Far too many people drive too fast and too close because they put time over safety.

On a perfect dry day with very low volumes of traffic our motorways are perfectly safe to drive on at 90mph but people drive at that speed whatever the conditions.

There are also some who drive far too slowly. Yesterday on the A12 there was a girl who I would guess is in her early 20's hogging the outside lane doing 50mph. So of course drivers started to undertake her so as to get by. She was even undertaken by a Tesco lorry!

Good driving is no accident.

Moreover , for the benefit of the young lady in the overtaking lane and others I have noted recently driving erratically, NOT causing an accident !!!
