Well done Paul on that one, I thought it would be over inside 48 hours. How wrong I was...

Is it a club?

Congratulations!
I noticed in hindsight the Pickles clue, and believe I would have solved it myself if I only had felt a bit more confident, desperate or unbusy. I tried more to find out if there was any special reason - apart from him being very good at this - that mip was the favourite to win.
Anyway, it's easier to be close to winning, than to actually win!

So, this time it's a dead person, but neither a player or/nor manager. There are many narrowing down questions that comes to mind, so I'll pick one of them.

Q: Was it a male person either born or based in England/Scotland/Wales?

Thanks Lars - yes, I was desperate and my Sunday was far too unbusy!Unsure

And the answer to your question is yes - it was a male person either born or based in England/Scotland/Wales

Lars, I will tell you why I was favourite to win Jamesie's quiz - apart from being very good at playing the 20Q game (thank you very much) or perhaps not being good at it, decide yourself. Simple answer, I was favourite because Jamesie had told me the answer in a pm a few days ago when I taunted him because he was running out of answers to his quizzes!

Jamesie to mip (excerpt):
As for my next one, I think I'll go for the World Cup being stolen in Brazil. Tongue

Jamesie to mip (excerpt):
Michael, I've spent the last three days laughing my head off with this one. I gave one of the most prolific competitors the ACTUAL ANSWER in a PM, regardless of this and all the cute little clues - someone else won.
One thing, are you brave enough to own up to the fact I told you the answer? Laugh

mip to Jamesie (expletives deleted):
Yes, if you can't have a laugh at yourself you can't have a laugh at anybody.
I couldn't help smiling when it dawned on me, beaten fair and square, I admit it.

I guess I'm not worse off than these guys (I really like the one where the ball gets stuck in the mud on the goal line): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORe7_745M2I

Nothing broken, pride needs a bit of stitching but up and on with the game.

Might as well ask a question: Was the person born before 1915?

My favourite was this one, seconds after Paul posted the answer - mip to Jamesie (excerpt):

"You wouldn't, would you? Yes you probably would!"

Sly

I won't do it again. Promise. Although I'll still leave those little clues. Hats off to Mikey for being brave enough to cough on this one.

In all honesty, I had completely forgotten about that part of Jamesie's pm until I read Paul's post. Luckily I had a busy weekend so didn't spend too much time looking for the answer. I did get by some absurd South American trivia on my trawl though. That you'll hear about in due time Wink. Not that I believe I'll win again after not winning #240.

Thirteen lucky guys have during the last 50 threads had the right to call themselves the current 20Q champion!
Mip 12, Jamesie 11, Buncranaboy 5, Chris41 5, Lars 4, PaulH 3, TPau 2, Ciderjon 2, Madmick 2, Nico, NorthStandExile, SeanM, MonsieurPascal
I need a win now to advance to top 3, and then I need to win again and again as several of my wins are nearly 50 threads old.
I haven't won any of the last 21 threads! But I'm in good company, as mip has 15 games without a win!

G: Arhur Pember!
