Tony Kempster, a man who gave up so much of his time to give pleasure to others, a truely great gift.

Rest In Peace.

Ever since I found this site,
I thought of Tony when hearing
that song by Golden Earring -
Quiet Eyes*.
Teary Eyes more like perhaps,
for many on Ear @ this sad time.
Echoing all other posts, thoughts
are with Tony Kempster's family
and all forum users.

*It had Tony in its lyrics.

sincere condolences to all the Kempster family from all at Leamington Football Club. Tony will be sorely missed.

I hope people dont mind but a justgiving page has been set up to raise money for cancer research in Tonys memory. If people are not happy it can be taken down.

While we mourn his leaving of us and try to console his grieving family with inadequate words let us remember that TK has left us and the world of Non League Football an incredible legacy which will be carried on by others in his memory, in his tradition and in his style.

When my mother died she was given three or four weeks, she went within the week peacefully, she just drifted away, hopefully it was the same for Tony.

As will be the case with many others, I never met Tony or came across his efforts outside of this website. However, it sums up the impact he made upon football in this country that he is so well known. Even in Scotland, at nearly every ground there will be someone familiar with his name or activity. While I appreciate the sadness that undoubtedly defines this news, it is also tempered by the knowledge that his work - his passion - and his legacy, will live on.

I lost interest in English football in the
late 80's/early90's.
This website got my love of football back.
Thank you Tony.
My thoughts are of you today.

Very sad news. Tony has left us on a weekend where 25 of us have been away on a "hop" in Sweden. All of us who went on the trip know each other through our common love of non-league football, most of us post on this website, some of us wouldn't know each other without this site.

Bringing people together through one shared passion - that's some legacy.

Thanks, Tony. RIP.

Well said indeed Aggedor. It's up to everyone now to continue to build on Tonys work in the right spirit and encourage people to enjoy their hobby as much as he did.

Spoke with Tony a number of times on the phone whilst working at the NLP. Always a pleasure to talk to and have dealings with, nothing was ever to much trouble.

You will be missed.

RIP Tony.
