Not exactly a sports presenter's mistake, but the ESPN website currently has:

Arsenal 1-5 Bayern Munich
Arsenal lead on aggregate

BBC London news tonight said the Emirates Stadium had been made in Arsene Wenger's image.

Can't say I noticed when I went. Unsure

Maybe it means that it's difficult to see when a home player misbehaves. Angelic

Meanwhile, there's a mistake on the BBC website in the report of Blades defender Daniel Lafferty being called into the Northern Ireland squad for this weekend's game.

A picture of Lafferty in action for NI in a previous fixture is currently captioned "Daniel Lafferty will hope to win his 14th cap for Northern Ireland against Sheffield United".

Now I know United have been having a really good season but……. Cool

Whilst watching Super Rugby, the following statistic was put on the screen as the kicker attempted a conversion:

Cronje. 19 (successful kicks) from 22 (attempts). 66%.

Perhaps the South African TV company should employ someone with maths qualifications or at least someone who can use a calculator!

When some technical fault meant snooker coverage was lost this week, the BBC announcer assured all that they were trying to reconnect to the Crucible Theatre in York.

Maybe that was the problem? It's being played in Sheffield.

The BBC have only been covering the World Snooker Championship from Sheffield for the last 40 years so there will be teething problems.

Not so much sport, but...

On Monday night on BBC Radio Four Extra, a reading of sea-shanty-themed poetry by John Hegley held in Southampton was interspersed with loud bursts of Mike Oldfield's 1977 hit 'PORTSMOUTH'! Tongue

Being an avid Luton Town fan, I'm sure Hegley would have something to say if a poetry reading in his home town was continually interupted by songs from well-known Watford supporter Elton John!

35 years ago (tomorrow), I saw Forest Green Rovers 3-0 Rainworth MW
FGR also played the 1999 FA Trophy final at Wembley, losing to Kingstonian

The shrieking rugby union presenter Sonia McLaughlin never fails to disappoint. Before yesterdays Champions Cup Final she and Ian Robertson were discussing Saracens benefactor Nigel Wray.

IR Nigel Wray has been putting his own money into the club to the tune of over a million pounds a,season for the past 22 years.

SM Yes but do you think he's in it for the long haul?
