Wessex Div One for me, US Pompey v Fleet Spurs is looking a good bet as we're staying in the area for the weekend anyways. Seen the ground a few times before and always fancied a game here just not got round to it.

Could possibly be at a loose end on Sunday and need to know if there is any footy in Devon or Dorset
Not interested in ladies footy or Sunday League, just Saturday sides. Perhaps Richard may now?

The North Devon Journal lists a Braunton Cup game between Merton and High Bickington for Sunday, don't know any details for KO etc. Both clubs only run one side so if you've got a un-natural aversion to reserve sides, this one won't cause you a problem.

Merton do have a reserve side now, retaining their membership of the Kingsley League for their new second string after the first team joined the North Devon League in the summer. You could argue though that the existence of a reserve team is in any case a good thing - even if you 'don't watch reserves'. Where it's clearly a first team fixture, the existence of a second pool of players within the club only makes the fixture more likely to be fulfilled, as any gaps due to unavailability are more easily filled.

I went to Merton for a 6.15pm kick-off in the rain earlier this season and there was a crowd of 50-60, so it could be a more lively afternoon than the level would suggest. The weather forecast is distinctly poor but the pitch at Merton drains superbly, often providing about the only fixture in North Devon to survive wet weather. Oh, and there is cover in the form of a large overhang from the Parish Hall at the corner of the pitch!

Kirkby Town v Bulwell Town.
CMFL Black Dragon Premier (step 8).

Because Bulwell Town play at Bestwood Village,
this game become's our localist, local derby.
There's 8.4 miles from ground to ground.
We had been looking forward to proper local derby's
against the likes of Blidworth, Sutton and pinxton (to
name but a few).If the North/South split had happened,
as it is Kirkby have to travel about 1,009 miles for the
seasons league matches, while teams at the step 6 EMCL
have somewhere around 700 miles round trip.
Kirkby don't really have much to do with the town of
Bulwell (except our sunday side's rivalry with pub side Scots
Grey), it isn't a shopping destination for us, no aunties and
uncle's to visit, or a work location etc...it isn't local.
Hopefully they'll bring a few to give it a local atmosphere.
Especially as we're on a 4 game unbeaten run and Bulwell
seem to have settled down to CMFL life a bit better recently,
after getting beat 0-7 on the opening day, they've won their
last two.
Mlac, a few weeks ago on your blog....
http://ontheroad2008-09.blogspot.com/
you had this game down to watch.I even told some of our
committee, that two of the more refined Notts Hoppers
where coming. We had the china cups ready and we always
put a good half-time spread on.
Then i find out you're going to see them rich kids again.
Our area's version of Chelski, when its us little clubs that
need the money just to pay the refs.
The next chance to see us will be sometime in November.
Oh well!, i'm sure you'll turn up sometime and i can't fault
yeh, it sounds like a crackin cup tie in store.
All the best to ex Kirkby Town sunday player Brendan
Sweeney who should be there with his missus and baby.
He's always good 'un to have a chat with, the bits you
can understand anyway.
And if you can put up with that old geezer shouting down
the tannoy......Sly Good luck Gordon.

I think I have persuaded myself that the Launceston Cup games are too far to go, with the poor forecast that there apparently is

Are they definitely still playing at the Slow & Easy Ground? When I went early season v Crewe there were strong rumours they were de-camping to the old Winnington Park ground on the Moss Farm sports complex. Mind you a man of your calibre would have checked that...........Wink

We're off to S & L Corby v Oxhey Jets in the FA Vase.
