Re: [tigerman48] Tuesday 17th September or Reply Privately

I was also at this one. Probably at least 25 years since I last visited Mayesbrook Park. The stadium has come a long way in that time. The stadium next door, that is. Mayesbrook Park is in a bit of a run-down state, with a cordoned off wasteland behind the goal where the old clubhouse used to be, and a collection of prefab sheds and containers doing service as changing rooms, boardroom, physio room etc. The hot food shack was open but unpopulated until just before kick-off - I eventually got a burger and chips about 15 minutes into the game. The club shop was not open at any stage (I was there an hour before KO).

Thought Barking were the better side for most of the match apart from the early stages of both halves where they conceded the goals. They were unlucky not to get an equaliser with the last kick. Waltham Abbey's game management in stoppage time left a lot to be desired.
