Re: [Sarumio] Northern Football Alliance 2018/19 or Reply Privately

Right – I’ve tried to get my head around the Blyth teams/clubs before – but it’s still not making any sense!!!!!!!!!!

  1. What is the actual name of the Northern League side – are they Blyth or Blyth Town?

  2. Whichever name they actually are, there’s a Blyth and Blyth Town in the Northern Alliance – so one of them has to be named something different to the Northern League club doesn’t it? Or is one of the Northern Alliance Blyths the reserve side of the Northern League club?

  3. How many clubs does the small town of Blyth actually need?

Anyone feel free to correct me but I believe -
The NL club are Blyth AFC.
The NFA clubs are Blyth Town and Blyth FC.
Blyth F.C. used to be a youth team called Blyth Eagles and came into senior football via the Newcastle Corinthians League.
Blyth AFC, backed by a controversial local businessman, split away from Blyth Town.
Blyth Spartans and Blyth Spartans Reserves are the same club.
So that’s 4 separate clubs, 5 sides.
Also both Blyth Bebside Inn and The Tavern Blyth currently play Saturday football in the Newcastle Corinthians League.
It would be safe to say they’re pretty keen on football in Blyth, the equivalent would be Hartlepool with many Rugby Union clubs.
